Aloha, all!
The Island Intelligencer newspaper column in the Hawaii Tribune Herald has this year experienced a few disruptive months due to an acquisition issue. More specifically, many newspapers in Hawaii were this past year acquired by a new single owner, and the management transition has led to unexpected delays with the content of some features. (This is part of a larger trend regarding traditional print journalism in the United States.)
Hang in there! The next installment of the column is scheduled to drop this upcoming Sunday (3 November), and I have it on the good word of the editor that we should see more regularly published pieces in the coming year.
Meanwhile, if you have suggestions for other content that you would like to see from a former CIA Senior Ops Officer on things espionage or current events or whatever, or you would like to book the Island Intelligencer as a guest speaker (any event, from small dinner parties and wine tastings to large group audience discussions), please contact me: islandintelligencer@gmail.com. (FYI, my spouse is also former CIA and we do a mean “The Real Mr. and Mrs. Smith” presentation…)
A hui hou!
